This week my family and I will intentionally engage in 21 days of prayer and fasting. These are 21 days when we will give up certain things that we desire and give a more intense focus to spending time communicating with God through prayer. Why would we do that? Why would anyone choose to go without something they wanted, if they could access the object of their desire? They would only do so if they desired something greater.
The question is how to accomplish that. How does one go about jumpstarting new life when the future looks dead. Let me suggest a pattern of thought you can embrace …
As leaders, we can become fearful regarding the part we play. There have been many times fear has come upon me as I’ve contemplated the task at hand. We all have the responsibility to connect people with their Heavenly Father. It is a great honor, but also a great responsibility. When we recognize the weight of this reality, the enemy can use that revelation to speak fear into our lives. We must refuse this fear!
The soundtrack sets the tone and without it the moment seems to fail to rise to the extent of its actual potential. We just don’t get everything out of the moment we could without the music pushing us toward that place. As a leader you are writing the score with your words, actions, and attitude. Nothing the Next Level Leader does is without effect.
