A Brief Intro to Fasting

This week my family and I will intentionally engage in 21 days of prayer and fasting. These are 21 days when we will give up certain things that we desire and give a more intense focus to spending time communicating with God through prayer. Why would we do that? Why would anyone choose to go without something they wanted, if they could access the object of their desire? They would only do so if they desired something greater.
